I’ve been baking braided bread for years. Occasionally, I’ve been asked to make round loaves. My last post on this was for a rounded loaf with a hollow center. In this case, we want a solid round. I’ve put together a brief tutorial on two ways to accomplish this.
Method 1 – Two Strands
This is easy to make, because it consists of just two strands. For this tutorial, I used 85g pieces of dough which makes for a small loaf. If you wanted to make something bigger, I would work with double that (170g/ea).
Method 2 – Six Strands – Winston Knot
This is a bit more challenging, but worth the effort! The Winston Knot is fun to make and a crowd pleaser when brought to the table.
Where is the hollow center?
